Each summer, the Lindegracht in Alkmaar is transformed into an open-air concert venue with a unique and intimate atmosphere. Along the water, framed by historic buildings and beneath the evening sky, classical music resonates through the city. Audiences gather along the quays, on bridges and in boats, while musicians perform from the water or along the canal.
The Lindegracht Concerts are known for their accessible character and high artistic quality. Emerging artists share the stage with established musicians, and the programme ranges from chamber music and art song to innovative approaches to the classical repertoire. The setting is informal, the programming thoughtfully curated, and the distance between performers and audience is minimal.
In the 2026 edition, Louise Jones performs on 4 August at 20:15, presenting the first half of the programme. The second part will be performed by the musical collective Pynarello. Together, Louise and Pynarello will conclude the evening with a special musical highlight.
Pynarello is a collective of musical free spirits that brings classical music out of the ivory tower and firmly into the present. The ensemble consists of outstanding young musicians who perform in a variety of formations, from intimate quartets to full symphony orchestras, always with a fresh and direct approach.
This evening promises to be a remarkable encounter between voice, ensemble and city, a summer concert in which attention, innovation and musical excellence come together along the waters of the Lindegracht in Alkmaar.
