Louise Jones - Ramon van Engelenhoven

Ramon van Engelenhoven (piano) and Louise Jones (soprano) were both born in North Holland, a fact we may take quiet pride in, as such talent is rare. On 7 June, they come together for a concert in the Bergkerk in Amersfoort, a setting that offers a rich and resonant space for an afternoon of music.

The concert takes place on Sunday afternoon at 15:00. The programme, titled Music from the Heart, presents a selection of classical songs alongside virtuoso piano works. An afternoon to be remembered.

Louise Jones, aged 20, is a soprano born in Alkmaar. She is currently studying in New York City at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music under Professor Cynthia Hoffmann. Following a year of study in Shanghai, where she trained with Professor Gabriel Song, she found her artistic home in New York, where she continues to develop as a promising classical singer. Louise is also a member of the National Youth Choir of the Netherlands, under the direction of László Nemes and Irene Verburg. With remarkable dedication and a willingness to travel, she balances her studies, choir work, and concert performances with ease. While still completing her studies, she already performs both nationally and internationally, an artist to watch.

Ramon van Engelenhoven is a pianist born in Medemblik. He studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he completed his Master’s degree with the highest distinction. He is a prizewinner of several competitions, including the Princess Christina Competition and the Young Pianist Foundation Competition, where he was the first to receive the Grand Prix Youri Egorov. Since then, he has performed both in the Netherlands and abroad, with appearances at venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, and the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg. Ramon regularly collaborates with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and has appeared as a soloist with various orchestras under conductors including Ed Spanjaard and Tianyi Lu. In 2024, he was nominated for an Edison Classical Award for his album Erich Wolfgang Korngold, A Portrait for Piano.
