Our mentors - Rob Petri
Rob began his singing career at the age of six as a boy soprano with the Noord-Hollands Jongenskoor, conducted by Hendrik Timmerman and affiliated with the Grote or St. Laurens Church in Alkmaar.
There, he frequently performed the solo soprano parts.
Until the age of nineteen, he took private lessons with the renowned vocal pedagogue Rebecca Stewart in The Hague, and later attended masterclasses with Emma Kirkby and Sir John Eliot Gardiner.
Many solo performances followed — first as a soprano, later as a countertenor — both in the Netherlands and abroad, including the United States, Russia, Poland, England, France, and Germany.
He collaborated with celebrated artists such as Emma Kirkby, Kurt Equiluz, Yoshifumi Hata, and Max van Egmond.
Rob has also contributed as a soloist to several CD recordings, including Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Mozart’s Requiem, and Haydn’s The Creation.
